My current workout routine

GIRL! Let’s talk about my current workout routine. I fear i eats….
For so many years now I’ve dealt with weight gain and weight loss… I’m 5’1” and I’ve ranged from 117-184 pounds in my adult life. This was through the pregnancies, the binge eating and the weight drop during massive stress overloads. Yes, Shit gets real out here.
My high school weight was 115 so when i hit 117 as a 30 year old woman i was like oh shit… I didn’t even notice. Stress will really mess you up and it can go either way really.
But anyways let’s get back on topic. Through all the ups and downs. I’ve found what truly works for me and it’s been amazing. Let’s get into it…
Since my first weight loss journey when i lost 35+ pounds after being the biggest i had ever been in my LIFE. I learned that walking is undefeated. People used to laugh when i told them that i walked with Leslie but the proof is in the pudding it works. If you know, you know.. Leslie is over 50 years old and fine asf. She prioritizes walking and gets it done. It’s not too much stress on my body, it’s fat burning and it’s actually fun when i lock in. She’s on YouTube. You can find her under Walk at Home. She’s the queen of walking from home period. You know when you see how old her videos are. But yea… Walking everyday will change your life. Not just in how you look but how you think and how you feel. It’s truly slept on.
If you are a big girl, don’t think you have to workout outside or go on actual walks and runs etc. Working out at home is what I did and the weight was gone. I always felt uncomfortable personally, working out publicly especially if i don look and feel my best so it’s been a life saver for me. Now, I have started taking my walks outside and not coming back in until i have my 10,000 steps. I do this most days during the week. It’s the main secret to my body and me maintaining. I am never afraid to start walking daily when that weight creeps on if it’s not a lifestyle like it is now.
Building a lifestyle around your workouts takes time. It requires you to show up every day or at least stay on a consistent schedule and making it a habit. Habits turn into a lifestyle and that’s what will stabilize your body weight. If it’s not broke don’t fix it. Once you find what works for you keep it up.
Aside from my walks i have leg and booty day 3 times a week with heavy training and lifting on those days. When I’m done my legs feel like noodles and my ass is on fire. That’s how i know i did a good job that day. I’m always trying to increase reps and time under tension the next week so my progress doesn’t stunt and to avoid workouts with no soreness. I NEED to be sore. That’s how i know that i broke my muscles down enough to rebuild the toned body I’m looking for.
Lastly, I do Pilates once per twice a week depending on how I feel just to strengthen, tone and lengthen my muscles for a leaner look overall. That’s all to my workout routine honestly. Another important factor is diet but we will talk about my skinny bytch meals in a later post. Until then, get active, be consistent and keep going!
